Writing a Will

It may be unpleasant, but it’s important that you make proper plans for the distribution of your belongings after you die by writing a will. A lot of people think it’s ‘too soon’ and don’t take care of the matter. Those who die without a will are said to have died intestate, which simply means without a will; this means that the full responsibility for the distribution of your assets will fall on a judge you don’t know, and you will have no say in the matter. You don’t absolutely need a lawyer to draft a will, but it is highly advisable. An improperly worded will can cause legal complications after you pass away, and it’s common for people fight over an estate after someone has died. You may wish to take care of some of your friends over some of your relatives, but generally friends do not have priority over family in probate court.
